The Principals of YEM

Kim has been performing since the age of 9 with various theatre groups, Kim gained her qualification in APTD jazz and modern theatre dance. Kim joined the YEM Theatre School in 1998. In the years Kim has been with the school she has taken classes in musical theatre, Jazz, Drama and Contemporary dance. In 2000 Kim took the step from student to teacher and began teaching the musical theatre classes which she thoroughly enjoys. During this time Kim has also been performing with other local theatre groups and as the vocalist with a band, including musical director and lead vocalist in The Ladies in Red Cabaret Group. In 2007 Kim took her final exam and was awarded her Fellowship in Musical Theatre from the London College of music.

Lucy started out at YEM at the age of nine with lessons in keyboard, she shortly went on to train in musical theatre, dance and drama. Lucy began choreographing for the school at 14 years old and became a student teacher at 15. YEM since lead her to continue her training at London's Urdang Academy where she gained her diploma in Professional Musical Theatre. She then went on to complete her BA (hons) Degree in Professional Practice (Choreography & Teaching Dance). Lucy now works professionally as a performer and choreographer in the performing industry alongside teaching and running YEM. She also is a main vocalist and choreographer for cabaret group The Ladies in Red.

Cat has been with YEM for over two decades, first as a student, then becoming a student teacher, and has enjoyed taking on a bigger responsibility over the years in putting on the shows and assisting with the running of the school. She has gained her LLCM diploma in Musical Theatre and taken various exams for Dance and Drama. Cat has a full time job as well as running the YEM Theatre School, she also puts in hours of her time making YEM's performer's their fabulous costumes.


Kiah started out as a YEM Student. Whilst training in all dance disciplines, Kiah excels in drama and musical theatre where she recently gained her Licentiate Diploma with London College of Music. Kiah is an excellent addition to the YEM teaching family with high energy drama classes with much enthusiasm and fun to be had. Kiah is also a member of the cabaret group The Ladies In Red






PictureMegan A.P.T.D, MEd Primary Education (1st Class Honours)
Megan, another former YEM student. From the age of four Megan has been with YEM and come back to teach for us, specialising in Tap dance. Megan has recently graduated Winchester university with a First class honours degree in Primary Education She has been a big part of the YEM family for a long time training in tap, ballet, musical theatre and drama with YEM. Her heart will always belong to tap! Megan is first aid trained along with the rest of our staff and has lots of experience with younger children.

Lydia joined YEM at the age of 7 in the Sunday workshops and quickly immersed herself in more YEM classes. Lydia gained her Associate Diploma in Musical Theatre with The London College of Music as well as completing her degree at Chichester university in Music & Musical Theatre. Lydia also passed her Intermediate Jazz with YEM, amongst other exams. Lydia is working in the LAMDA training and teaching our Alton students, helping them get through their exams. We welcome Lydia back to YEM now she finished her studies and been gaining some experience in the performing industry.

Amy has been with YEM since the age of three. Amy has trained in ballet, tap, drama and musical theatre with YEM gaining exams to high levels in all disciplines. We welcome Amy to the teaching team as she works to complete her ballet teaching qualifications and after many years student teaching with tap and ballet she hopes to finish off her Tap teaching qualifications too amongst also training at university to become a primary school educator. Like Megan, Amy has worked in local creches and clubs gaining valuable experience working with young children.

Morgan is another loyal YEM family member who we've had since they were very young. Morgan is completing her APTD in Jazz Dance with the PTD. Morgan is a keen Jazz, contemporary and lyrical dancer.

​Just some of our fabulous student teachers gaining invaluable experience whilst assisting the teachers in their classes, alongside the students' own training. We have helpers for weekend workshops, street/acro, musical theatre, rock choir and ballet, these friendly faces are here to help too!
